If You Test Positive for COVID-19

Please be advised that due to current COVID-19 case volume you may not receive a call or letter for Isolation from the Auglaize County Health Department or the Ohio Department of Health Contact Tracing team.

If you test positive please follow the information below and advise any close contacts to quarantine for 5 days from last contact with you, and to wear a mask for days 6 through 10. If they develop symptoms they should isolate immediately and seek testing if available.

If you need to return to work, school, etc… and you have not received a call or letter of isolation please speak with your employer, school, or agency. Providing a copy of your test result showing the date of testing and a copy of the new ODH guidance should provide the necessary information for you to return to work or school.

If you test positive for COVID-19:

Everyone regardless of vaccination status should:

  • Isolate and stay home for 5 days from onset of symptoms or test date, if no symptoms.
  • If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are improving after 5 days, you can leave your house.
  • Continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additiona days.

If you have a fever, continue to isolate and stay home until your fever is gone.
