Community Outreach Coordinator

The Auglaize County Health Department is collecting resumes for an open position of Communtiy Outreach Coordinator. Ideal candidates will be outgoing, self-motivated, and wanting to help their community.

Role and Responsibilities:

Under general and administrative direction, plans, develops, and implements public health education programs; Conducts community outreach activities to address public health priorities; conducts various health education programs for the public and community organizations; Serves as an Accreditation Coordinator and working with Accreditation team, guides/directs staff in order to accomplish and maintain Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) requirements; Performs public relations and marketing duties including social media; serves as Health District’s Public Information Officer (PIO); Performs other related duties as required.

 

Experience/Education Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in health education or equivalent degree and should have one (1) to three (3) years of experience as a health educator or have the equivalent in education and work experience. Experience with the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) requirements, PIO experience, and Certified Health Specialist (CHES) credential are preferred. Valid Ohio driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Work Status: Full Time (40 hours per week)

 

Pay Range: Starting rate $22.74/ hour, may vary based on experience and certifications.

The Auglaize County Health Department will be holding its annual Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds. Opinions Wanted! If you own a home, in Auglaize County, that has it's own sewage system, we are looking for your input. There is an Ohio requirement that all household sewage systems have an Operation and Maintenance permit. This means that there needs to be an active permit at all times each house is occupied. It would have to be renewed periodically to utilize the sewage system. We want to make this program beneficial, while ensuring it is cost effective and minimally invasive. We have received our shipment of the Moderna Bivalent COVID-19 booster and are now taking appointments.  Please be reminded that the Moderna Bivalent booster is only for individuals 18 years and older. To receive the Bivalent booster it must have been at least 2 months since your last booster or last dose of your primary series.
